Pohnpei’s sakau production and Kosrae’s citrus groves represent additional specialized crops requiring targeted nutrition education. Independent applicants must supply state-level land-use permits and current household dietary intake surveys.

The grant supports agricultural trials and fisheries aggregation devices that meet FSM Department of Resources and Development procurement rules. Projects require letters of support from the relevant state agriculture office and proof of coordination with the College of Micronesia-FSM cooperative extension service.

Readiness criteria in FSM differ from Palau because FSM requires explicit alignment with the 2020–2025 National Food Security and Agriculture Strategic Action Plan before budget approval.
